- Lydia
Lydia’s passion for fitness and health began 16 years ago after she suffered two serious hamstring tears at the start of her professional dance career. While rehabilitating with an intensive training regime, Lydia had the fortunate experience to begin studying the complexities of the body’s biomechanics. It was through Pilates that she began to re-train and learn how to move in a healthy way for health, strength and longevity. After years of breaking her body down with the extreme physical demands of dance she learned that through mindful movement she could help heal, realign and improve unhealthy physical movements patterns that were causing imbalance in her body. Through this transformative experience, Lydia learned by training intentionally with functionality at the base, she could improve her body’s movement potential and help eliminate pain and residual inflammation.
Lydia actively pursues studying, researching and participating in anatomical, fitness, Pilates, physical therapy and rehabilitation workshops, courses, and advanced accreditations. She is an active participant and leader in the industry and understands the importance of continuing education to help support her clients growth. By staying informed as to the latest in fitness and movement research, Lydia can enhance her classes and training to further assist participants in reaching their personal goals.
With energy, enthusiasm and a motivating approach to teaching, Lydia is skilled at incorporating exercise into a healthy lifestyle. Her specialties include Pilates, posture training, flexibility and stretching and sports-specific movement training. Integrating her experience in the health & wellness industry and pulling from her wide range of teaching fitness, Pilates, Barre, TRX, spin, stretch and dance, Lydia effectively utilizes a broad range of fitness disciplines to deliver classes that are creative, challenging and focused.
